MRI of the Upper and Lower Joints
Can help doctors discover the cause of any elbow, knee, or other joint pain; swelling, bleeding, or weakness of surrounding tissues; degenerative joint disorders like rheumatoid arthritis; pain caused by fibromyalgia, lupus, tendinitis, gout, or Lyme disease; bone cancer, joint dislocations, ankylosing spondylitis, bursitis
- Knee Pain: ACL Injury, Torn Meniscus, Knee Bursitis, Patellar tendinitis, kneecap pain or dislocation, osteoarthritis, build-up of knee joint fluid, inability to support weight on knee joint or a decrease in motion.
MRI for Sports-Related Injuries
Ankle injuries, bone fractures too fine for x-rays or CT scans, concussions, dislocated shoulders, groin pull, hamstring injuries, muscle strain, rotator cuff tear, running injuries, sprains, tailbone injuries, tennis elbow, torn ligaments or tendons, workout injuries.
MRI of Cancer and Tumors
All forms of cancer and tumors, especially those involving any bones and joints, or the brain. Most commonly used for breast cancer, or brain tumors and abnormalities.
MRI of the Head
Used to diagnose headaches or migraines, check for blood flow or vessel blockages, diagnose a stroke, check for tumors, examine optic or auditory nerves, and evaluate head injuries.
MRI of the Chest
Allows doctors to check for heart problems including heart disease, blocked blood vessels, and muscle damage from a heart attack; heart pain, injury, or tumors; and any problems with the lymph system.
Surgical Implants or Malfunctioning Devices
MRI’s can be used to examine tears or ruptures in surgically implanted objects, such as silicon gel inserts in breast implants. An MRI can also be used to examine malfunctioning medical devices like artificial knee, hip, or other joint replacements.
